there was a chamber where you'd go to become angry as one 

goes to the baths to be clean and relax or to a rodeo or to a thriller

they say it was the geography the minerals the even more ancient

rites that drew anger from you rage self-righteousness rites 

carefully administered pilgrim centered generously guided

some soldiers found their peace this way unless they hadn't 

yet known war and in those cases they invariably went to find it

but now they're building them everywhere and some of us

never leave learn to exist symbiotically with the chambers pull

others into the chambers and start to refer to the chambers as 

an ecosystem although no one in the chambers takes that 

metaphor seriously or even questions their own presence in the

chambers unless it is to riff on that in the chambers and perhaps

create a new chamber that specifically rages against the 

chambers

tall man community

 

Tall man says:

I was doing some juggling, and a producer friend of mine says yeah somebody wants a juggler but they also want a tall man. I said sure, I do tall man. Tell em I'll do it. Thing is I had never done tall man before. And my agent was like that's great I didn't know you did tall man. And I said sure I do. And then I got a call, and boy I was—they said they needed me in two weeks, but I was ready to lose it all if they said tomorrow. But they said two weeks, and I said sure I'll do it. So I found out you can get the legs, everything you need for tall man down at the lumber yard. They've got the connections, everything. So I practiced for a while the next few days in my neighborhood first on short legs cus they're adjustable, you know, and then higher and higher ones. And it got to the point where I found out why they've got the houses up from the street like that, built up. You have to go up a step, and then another couple of steps or some kind of diagonal ramp like they have. So I'm trucking along in these, and getting pretty good at it, and my buddies have a big picture window. They're sitting in there eating some popcorn and watching TV in nothing but their underwear cus they know nobody can see in. But then I come walking along and they were like stunned. They had never seen anybody's face walking past their front window before. So yeah they trucked out of there to go and cover up! 

 

 

brain-gut connection note

Why would I say out loud "that was awkward" while turning over once again a moment from decades ago. Schizophrenic people at the beach do this in their deep tans, taking both sides even switching places on the bench. If you listen, they are ancient squabbles. 

My gut is fully involved in the self-torture sessions including empathizing with and imagining people all over the world being tortured. 

Some people pick their nose or cut their skin for relief. Some self-hypnotize with sports or nature. Some like listening to the sound of a mouth working a lemon drop in front of a microphone. 

When my mind becomes satisfied maybe by resolving a bitter note, a small section of gut releases it's grip. It makes a noise.
